Debt Life Line

Debit Life Line

Debt Lifeline has been in operation since 1999 and utilizes its wealth of experience and successes in the debt industry to help people find a viable solution to their financial woes. The website is www.debtlifeline.com.au

The company is part of the SRMC Limited Group, one of the leading and most reputed registered debt administrators, which claims to have one of the highest personal insolvency agreement acceptance rates. Debt Lifeline also works in conjunction with Credit Counsellors Australasia a debt advisory company that is also a subsidiary of SRMC Limited Group.

Debt Lifeline focuses on helping clients realize that they have options other than bankruptcy available to them. They primarily help customers reduce their debt and consolidate it through a Part IX debt agreement. However, they explicitly state that they only work with people who have $10,000 or more in outstanding debts. Some of the benefits Debt Lifeline is able to present are:

A lower monthly payment you can afford
Consolidate all unsecured loans into one for easy re-payment
Freeze interest on your debt
Stop court action and garnishes

Although their specific fees are not mentioned Debt Lifeline does promise no up-front fees and will not charge you anything if they are unable to save you money. They have a team of highly trained and tertiary qualified consultants on hand to help you.

They provide a free assessment of your ability to make a part IX debt agreement and you can obtain this by either calling them on their toll free number or via the contact form located on their website. There is no obligation to contract their services after the assessment. Visitors can request a call back by filling out the online form. After business hours visitors are able to leave a message if they wish to be called back.

The Debt Lifeline website is very professional in its look; however, navigation can become somewhat tricky. The layout of the homepage seems to be slightly cluttered without clear demarcation of sections.

Links to an about us page and past success stories are provided yet there is a lack of links detailing the services offered by the company. The content on the website can also seem repetitive as the same page is accessed via multiple links making navigation and locating resources more troublesome.

A number of articles are provided to educate customers about debt and the options available to them. Many of the articles provide useful information that can help a number of people escape their debts.

Clients who are thinking about bankruptcy are provided with details regarding the consequences and effects of bankruptcy such as:

Appointment of trustee over your financial assets
Restriction on international travel
Difficulty in obtaining any additional credit

Alternative and less damaging solutions such as personal insolvency agreements and informal agreements are briefly explained. Other articles feature tips and advice on how one can help gauge their finical position and change small habits to remain debt free in the future. While a number of articles have been posted the frequency of postings is not consistent.

A misguiding link on the website is titled Video Guides, and raises expectations of visitors who expect to see helpful how-to or instructional videos for reducing debt. Instead all videos are advertisements for the company and do not offer any additional or valuable information.

An extensive review of the company should be undertaken before using their services. Such a decision is a highly personal endeavor and should not solely be based on reviews.

With the backing of one of Australia's largest debt administrator and positive customer references, Debt Lifeline shows itself to be a company which can deliver real world results. The fact that they will not charge you unless you save money also builds confidence in them.
